On 22 May 2024, I participated in a meeting of Finns active in Germany in Berlin, representing the Finnish-German Trade Guild in Frankfurt am Main. This was a good opportunity to mingle and make connections. Below is a picture of the Frankfurt am Main delegation:
The discussions centered around foreign policy, media and related themes. I was particularly impressed by a presentation by Johanna Vuorelma from the University of Helsinki:
Naturally, the messages brought by the Finnish Ambassador to Germany Kai Sauer were also interesting. Germany is the most important trade partner of Finland (in terms of goods) since 2014 and there are around 400 Finnish subsidiaries in Germany. Another point emphasized by Mr Sauer was that Germany has been present in our history and has made an impact at pivotal moments.
Should you have been present at the meeting and wish to contact us, please do get in touch! The same naturally applies for anyone wishing to enhance Finnish-German trade in the Frankfurt region/Hessen.
